Carrot: Nash's Best
CERTIFIED ORGANIC seed, 1 packet (500 seeds)
Daucus carota Nash’s Best carrots were bred to be sweet while retaining a true carrot flavor. A multipurpose cross between a Nantes (preferred for fresh eating) and a Danvers (with more body and flavor for juicing and cooking). Boasts a strong leafy top to shade out weeds and resist breakage during harvest. Bred in the Pacific Northwest by farmer breeder, Nash Huber, they hold up to early freeze/thaw cycles to sweeten to peak flavor; hold well for winter storage.
Direct seed as soon as the soil can be worked in spring through mid-summer. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 55-75℉. Plant 1/4-1/2" deep; thin to 1-2" (depending on desired size) with sat least 18" between rows. For optimal growth, make sure the soil is loose and free of stones and debris. Weeding shortly after germination allows slow-growing carrot seedlings a better start.
