CERTIFIED ORGANIC SEED, 1 packet (100 seeds)

Spinacia oleracea (44-55 days) Luscious, thick semi-savoy leaves are tender and tasty for fresh eating, steaming, canning or freezing. An easy-to-pick heirloom and heavy producer, it is a ‘work-horse’ variety for food storage purposes. A 1933 All-America Selections winner originally introduced in 1926, it is known for its slow bolting nature. 8-12” tall with a 25” spread. Sow in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked and again in the fall for maximum cool season production. Excellent choice for home gardens and market growers.

Growing Notes

Direct seed as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, and again in the late summer-early fall. Grows best in cooler temperatures <75°F; as a spring or fall crop. Seeds germinate in 5-10 days when soil temperatures are between 32-60°F. Plant 1/2” deep, 1-2” apart, with at least 18” between rows.
